Here’s a 1977 Kiddie City newspaper ad for the G.I. Joe fans in the audience. Featuring the failed Super Joe series (see my 2013 feature and G.I. Joe and Other Backyard Heroes* for more on Super Joe), shows us the toys from a time when retailers still held out hope that Super Joe could capture the sales magic of the Adventure Team line.
